the garden

I come into the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses

and the voice that I hear falling on my ear

  the Son of God discloses

Poet's Heart

Thoughts racing through your mind unbidden

From feelings suppressed and oft deeply hidden.

Storms of passion reeling round,

Waves of emotions lifting high then crashing down.

Darkness of spirit so black caused by wounds that are deep.

Whirlpools of depression that leave one weak.

Heights of emotion from which it is dangerous to fall.

Joy that soars over mountain peaks tall.

Eyes that perceive beauty where others see nothing at all.

A heart that loves no matter the cost,

Willing to strive for what others count lost.

This is the heart from which poetry springs.

Hoping against hope some relief to bring.
