Road Blocks to a Life that has Purpose

All of us are Driven, our lives are influenced either in a positive or negative way.

This influence can be a road block to seeking God or can influence, guide and direct our lives to God and fellowship with God.

What is it your life is influenced by? Pursuing a relationship with God or go with the crowd. Those who go with the crowd eventually get lost in the crowd.

You may be driven by problems. A painful memory from the past, job pressures, relationship problems, fear of what could happen or a belief system that seems to be a big question mark for you.

In the journal entry, "A Life that has Purpose", God promises to help build a relationship with us. Maybe you have tried and feel you fell short of accomplishing that.

Here are a few words of wisdom to help remove those road blocks, those doubts.

Dealing with self from God's perspective: 1 Corinthians 10:13 - "No temptation has overtaken you but such is common to man; and God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will provide the way of escape also so that you will be able to endure it." So what am I influenced by????

Many are influenced by Guilt: Because of our feelings we often punish ourselves.

Hebrews 10:22 - "let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience ..."

Not an intellectual exercise but a heart issue. Hebrews 3:8, 10, 15 - 4:7

Not Religion, a Living Faith: The veil between man and God. 2 Corinthians 3:14 - 16

Faith Issue: Getting started - Faith is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8.

Growing Faith: Faith comes from hearing by the Word of Christ. Romans 10:17.

Guilty Conscience: Confession of sin. 1 John 1:9 ... God through Jesus forgives.

Jesus Christ died on the cross to free mankind from guilt and sin. The above can only be accomplished by a living faith not religion. Being free from road blocks that prevent a living relationship with God, key - Jesus' sacrifice for sin. Romans 10:9-10, 13. Will you make this prayer part of your life? If so the rest, God will help free you from.

What can God free us from?

Many are Driven by Resentment and Anger: Hurts if held will bring anger on self and others.

The result of never to be forgiven. Resentment will cause people to clam up or blow up. Unforgivness. Hebrews 12:15 - "no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many."

Proverbs 30:33 - "stirring up anger produces strife."

Strife Fixer: There is good and evil and many road blocks. The answer to abundant life?

John 10:10 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I (Jesus) came that they have life, and have it abundantly." Question: what kind of a life do I want?

Constant Fear in their lives: Fear driven people often miss opportunities. Fear is dealing with something that is overpowering you. They want to play it safe. Fear keeps you a prisoner and keeps you captive from what God wants you to be and do in life.

1 John 4:18 - "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear ..." Trusting God.

Romans 8: 15 - "For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry "ABBA! FATHER!" ( Daddy)". Have you been adopted yet? Do you have a active relationship with God?

Dependence for Approval from others: A road block is designed to stop us from reaching the destination God desires for us in his Kingdom.

God will help overcome the adversities in life and give peace and joy and remove our road blocks, but I need to trust in Him!

There are many keys to success but one Key for failure is trying to please everyone.

Being controlled by other opinions and not the Word of God is a sure way to miss what God has for you in life. Trying to please everyone can be very frustrating and depressing. Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one, and despise the other, ..."

Without God, no peace no hope and no future.

Isaiah 26:3 - "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.".

Are there any road blocks to God? Only the ones we create. The question is: "how much do I trust God. Am I looking for His opinion (Word of God) or that of others?"
