Gods Desire To Communicate

What is so important about "I AM" in the Old Testament? Lets connect the dots through history. Let the men who were willing to be used by God to show us the way. Keep this thought in mind, the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed! They complement each other.

ABRAHAM - It is impossible for a finite mind to fully comprehend the sovereignty of God. When He appeared to Abraham is a vision, God said "I AM almighty God". God justified Abraham because he was a man of faith, God spoke to him in a vision Genesis 15:1 "do not be afraid .. I AM your shield." Genesis 15:7 "Then He said to him I AM the Lord,"

MOSES - The life of Moses tells of a man enjoying an extraordinary relationship with God. God would speak to Moses (Exodus 33:11 "The Lord spoke to Moses face to face") as He would a friend, Moses experienced God in a new and different way. Moses caught a glimpse of God's love, His greatness, His holiness. God loves to reveal Himself to those who are earnestly longing to know Him personally. God spoke to Moses (Exodus 3:14), God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"

God reveals himself as the "I AM" of the Old Testament.

How does God in the New Testament reveal Himself different from the Old Testament John 6:32 "Moses did not give you bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from Heaven." John 6:33 "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

Jesus referred to as the Old Testament "I AM" in the New Testament - 7 self descriptions of Jesus, I AM;

    John 6:35, 8:12, 9:5, 10:7-9, 10:11-14, 11:25, 15:1-5

Jesus is the humanity of God. Our finite minds cannot comprehend fully God the Father, so God the Father sent God the Son to reveal Himself to His creation.

John 14:9 "He who has seen me has seen the Father"

John 10:30 "I and the Father are one."

John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me"

Jesus is the "I AM" of the Old Testament

Comments / Questions

So, you are saying that Jesus is God?
Thanks, Dennis

Dennis: I agree with the Holy Word of God. Expressed in the Old Testament and revealed in the New Testament. Jesus is the humanity of God reaching out to us.
