The Bible is a difficult Book
There are many scholars that pick the Bible apart and give many statements that describe the Bible,
still one of the best selling books today, in a negative context.
They say it was written by man, that it contradicts itself and is not for today,
that only man makes it relevant to the changing religious needs for today.
They say things need to change as time passes (Isaiah 55:8).
What does God say about mankind and the Bible?
How does a person approach His Word to grasp the understanding about Jesus and what God
did through His Son, Jesus?
Why do so many say the Bible is a difficult book, if one chooses it can be.
Why? Because it came from the infinite to the finite --- from the unlimited, all powerful,
creator God, to the limited understanding of man.
Therefore, one will not be able to understand the Bible as you would the writings
of past authors or of present day authors.
You can study the great authors and philosophers with the natural mind,
and by diligent application figure out what they are relating to you (1 Corinthians 2:14).
If the Bible could be understood by natural man, it would be a natural book,
and could not be the word of God. Because the Bible is from God, and is spiritual,
before you can understand and receive its teachings, you must have a personal relationship
with God through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). One that is without Jesus is without God -
is a natural man but one must be born of the Spirit (John 3:6) and be filled with the
Holy Spirit of God because he is our teacher (Luke 12:12).
The Holy Spirit will teach you the things God has for you,
without God's help the Bible will remain difficult if not impossible to understand.
Things to ponder concerning God's help! Pray, asking God to help you.
To know God, to be born again of His Spirit (John 3:3), what does that look like as a child of God?
To believe in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not from the head, intellectually,
but from your heart (Romans 10:13).
To know God, is to love Him, to trust Him, obey Him and you will be blessed (John 15:11).
Isaiah 55:8 - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways, My ways, declares the Lord.
1Corinthians 2:14 - But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness to him: and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually appraised.
John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the father but through me.
Luke 12:12 - for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what to say.
John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless
one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Romans 10:13 - for "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
John 15:11 - These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you,
and that your joy may be made full.
