Looking for comfort in a struggling world

We are together in this world we live in, for the most part we interact with one another either in a positive way or in a negative way. There are always mixed emotions as to what we see and experience as we live together in life. Some things that happen are exciting and enjoyable, yet other situations seem to drain all the life out of us. Our feelings are on a high at times and other times they are very low to the point of deep depression.

There are people in this world that are very kind and caring and there are others that make life very challenging. In this up and down world how can a person deal with it? We can just accept life in the midst of turmoil, at times we may not have a choice but to deal with it or for sure it will deal with us.

How can I go through life portraying outwardly that things are good but inwardly there is no peace or joy? Situations and circumstances seem to control our lives, controlling how we feel and many have to take drugs to deal with the pain and hurt we feel inside. There are times that all of us can agree with when life just seems to be unfair. Some times our physical condition may require medication from a doctor but for the majority of us we try to deal with stress ourselves. Dependence on self seems to be ineffective or at best just a temporary fix. Help comes from God of the Old Testament, He is the same God of the New testament. Question, "In the midst of where I am, will I seek His help?".

He has created us and knows our needs and is willing to help us to overcome our struggles. God desires a personal relationship with His creation, that we may enjoy a new life in Him. God reveals himself in the New Testament as the humanity of God in Christ Jesus. Look at Jesus, his attributes, they are the same as God the Father. Jesus said to him "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, Show us the Father?" John 14:9.

He is the beginning of a new life's journey. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, have you accepted Him as savior? If not, pray and ask Him to be your savior to begin a new life. In doing this God has made some promises to you, He will be with you always, He will not abandon you, you have a home in Heaven. So as a Jesus follower what is our part, how can God help us to overcome the struggles of this world? When you accept Jesus Christ, God gives you the Holy Spirit. The Spirit does 4 basic things, He comforts, He strengthens, He teaches, He convicts us (not make us feel guilty, but to help us grow in our faith). So the key is how the Holy Spirit can help us - and what does that look like?

Galatians 5:22 -23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control". God gives us, Love, Joy, Peace - as we love Him. Patience, Kindness, Goodness - as we love the Lord by His Spirit we can love others with His love. Faithfulness is loves confidence. Gentleness is loves humility. Self-Control - Control is loves victory to overcome. Pursuing God through Jesus is the answer to experiencing the blessing of life and being able to love others.
