Revival part 2
So, where did we leave off? The last question was "What are you going to do?"
"Click Here For Revival part 1"
Did you come up with anything?
There are (at least) two actions people participate in when looking for revival:
1. Praying to God and asking Him to bring about revival.
2. Praying to God and asking Him what He wants them to do about bringing about revival.
In the first scenario be careful not to try "putting the monkey" on God's shoulders. Get this, we are supposed to be serving God, not the reverse, so serve Him and get on with it!
In the second scenario be careful of procrastination - God has already told us what He wants us to do! Read His book, it's full of instructions ... you just have to follow them and get on with it!
That may seem a little harsh, and in no way am I saying that you should stop praying - just that the prayer needs to be paired with action:
pray and seek His face
turn from your wicked ways
(adapted from 2 Chronicles 7:14)
Please, if you want to make a start - put together a list of all of God's instructions from His book relating to 2 Chronicles 7, starting with Matthew 22:37, and what about Matthew 24:14? Then put them into action - yes the monkey really is on your shoulders (and mine). Let's strive to fill that old church every night with people humbling themselves and turning from their wicked ways.
God wants this, He said so. Satan doesn't. Who do you serve? John 14:15.
Revival starts with you, here, now! God promised! Step out in faith - if you dare!
2 Chronicles 7
13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
